We want you to enjoy CalcPet with clear expectations. This disclaimer explains what our tools are — and what they are not.
Tools are estimates for fun & planning only
Every calculator, quiz, checklist, and planner on CalcPet produces estimates based on averages, common rules of thumb, and popular patterns. They are designed for entertainment and planning purposes only.
Your actual costs, timelines, and outcomes will depend on your individual pet, your location, your choices, and plain luck. Two puppies of the same breed can have wildly different first-year costs; two cats can take completely different times to settle into a new home. Our tools give you a sensible starting point — not a prediction.
Not professional or veterinary advice
Nothing on CalcPet is professional, veterinary, medical, or legal advice. We are pet lovers and researchers, not veterinarians. No tool on this site can diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and no article replaces the judgment of a qualified professional who can examine your pet in person.
If your pet is sick, injured, behaving unusually, or you are worried about their health for any reason, please contact your veterinarian or a local animal emergency clinic right away. In an emergency, do not wait for an email reply from us.
No outcome guarantees
We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any result on this site. Our quizzes are explicitly just for fun — a "perfect name" result is a suggestion to smile at, not a verdict. Our budget planners reflect typical ranges, not promises about what you will spend.
By using CalcPet, you accept that results are illustrative and that any decisions you make based on them are entirely your own responsibility.
External links
We sometimes link to other websites we think you will find useful — pet organizations, research sources, and similar. We do not control those sites, we do not endorse their content, products, or services, and we are not responsible for anything that happens on them. Clicking an external link is at your own discretion.
Content is general information
Pet care guidance evolves, and general information cannot cover every situation. Treat our articles and tool explanations as friendly background reading, and always verify important decisions with a qualified professional.
