Welcome to CalcPet
CalcPet is a cozy corner of the internet for dog and cat people. We make free, friendly, non-medical tools — calculators, quizzes, checklists, and planners — that help you plan your pet's life with a little more confidence and a little less guesswork. Whether you are wondering how old your cat is in human years, budgeting for a new puppy, or picking the perfect name, there is a CalcPet tool for it.
Everything on the site is free, works right in your browser, and needs no sign-up. We built it that way because pet people already have enough on their plates.
Who runs CalcPet?
CalcPet is run by Qaisar Aqeel, a lifelong pet lover and researcher. Qaisar started CalcPet after years of bookmarking scattered pet-planning spreadsheets, random age charts, and half-remembered budgeting rules — and realizing there should be one simple, trustworthy place for all of it.
He reads the guidance published by veterinary associations, animal welfare groups, and pet-care educators, and turns it into plain-English tools that real people actually enjoy using. No jargon, no scare tactics, no health claims — just practical helpers with honest, clearly-labeled estimates.
Our mission
Our mission is simple: make pet planning easy, honest, and fun. We believe that:
- Planning tools should be free and accessible to every pet owner.
- Estimates should be clearly labeled as estimates, never presented as guarantees.
- Content should be original and human-written, not copied from other sites.
- Pets deserve tools that respect them as individuals — every dog and cat is different.
Our editorial standards
Every tool, article, and FAQ on CalcPet is written and reviewed by a human — no auto-generated filler. Before a tool goes live, we check it for accuracy, clarity, and tone. We revisit our content regularly and update it when guidance changes or when readers point out something we can improve.
We will always tell you when a number is an estimate rather than a fact. Many of our calculators use averages and common rules of thumb (for example, typical cost ranges for supplies, or popular naming patterns). Those are great starting points for planning — but they are not promises about your specific pet.
What CalcPet is not
This is important, so let's say it plainly: we are not veterinarians. Nothing on CalcPet is medical, veterinary, or professional advice. Our tools are estimates for fun and planning only — they cannot diagnose, treat, or predict anything about your pet's health, and they should never replace a conversation with your veterinarian.
If your pet is sick, injured, or you are worried about their health, please contact your veterinarian or a local animal emergency clinic right away. No website tool can substitute for a professional who can actually examine your pet.
A small promise
We will keep CalcPet free, we will keep our tools honest, and we will keep listening. If you spot an error, have an idea for a new tool, or just want to say hello, head over to our contact page — real humans read every message. Thanks for being here, and give your pet a treat from us.
